NirSoft VideoCacheView uses an ingenious way to grab various types of contents from the Internet and make them available even if you are offline. What the program actually does is to search your browser’s cache folders and find those files you have viewed or played before. Luckily, it supports most popular browsers, including Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome, and Opera.
It is shame that the program does not have an attractive interface. In fact, it looks quite outdated. However, it is extremely simple to use. When you start the program, it automatically scans the browser cache and starts showing the files there. By default, the tool searches for video and audio, but it can also be set to include images and Flash files (SWF).
Once this initial exploration is finished, you can view such file properties as size, source URL, browser and date of the last access, among others. At this point, you can export the resulting list in various formats. Yet, most importantly, you can copy the selected files to a folder. Likewise, it can open the download URL in the browser.
All in all, NirSoft VideoCacheView facilitates fetching downloaded contents. Otherwise, you would have to look for the browser’s cache folder and filter the files there manually. However, you should know that not all the contents that you display on your browser can be grabbed this way. Similarly, the tool will not work either after using a privacy cleaner, which normally wipes all leftovers of your Internet activity.
